Horse-drawn carriages are available to transport from the Visitor Center at the entrance of Petra to the Treasury. Cost for the carriage is 20 JOD return (there and back). Tours to Petra with Entry fees. Most tours to Petra include the entry fees within the tour price meaning that the remaining price for the tour is less than 50% of the cost.

Petra Tours: Petra By Night is a two-hour after dark Petra tour experience that runs three times weekly. Tickets are purchased at the Petra visitor center. It involves a candle-lit walk through the Siq up to the Treasury, also lit only by candles, where there is a short program with a talk and some Bedouin music before you return through the Siq.

Discovering Petra Day One Passion for Hospitality
The Petra by Night show - when the Siq and the Treasury are beautifully lit by candles - takes place three nights per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The tour starts at 8:30 pm and finishes at about 10:30 pm. It costs JD 17 ($ 24 USD) to see it, and you can buy tickets at the visitors centre.

Petra By Night begins at 8:30 PM at the Petra Visitor Center, and you should plan to arrive 30 minutes early to sort out your tickets. The event finishes at around 10:30 PM, but performances finish and crowds start to clear out of the Treasury by about 9:30, 9:45 PM. Tickets cost 17 JOD per person and is not included in your Petra.

The bus from Amman to Petra takes three hours, departing Amman at 6.30am and returning at 5pm, and costs JD10 (£11/$14) one way. Aqaba to Petra is also a three-hour journey, departing Aqaba at 8am and returning at 5pm for JD15 (£17/$21) one way. Or if you're limited on time and looking for an easy way to visit Petra, there are various tour.

You can organise everything at the visitor centre when you arrive. If you want to plan something in advance, with transport and a tour guide, there are plenty of Petra day tours you can book to travel to the site with.
